The Barn at Smugglers' Notch is a full service Wedding Venue.  While we feel that we have one of the most most beautiful and elegant venues, in a breathtaking location, we go far beyond that to insure your wedding is most memorable. We work to ensure a stress free and seamless experience in creating an event that matches your vision.  To that end we have assembled a team that is capable of servicing your every need with the experience of 1000's of events under their belts.  Your two main points of contact will be Steve & Kristin below.  Steve will be your initial contact to book the venue and develop a bar service menu with.  Kristin, as the Director of Catering, will be your contact for catering.  In addition, we have assembled at team of preferred vendors that have been hand picked because of their dedication to excellence and quality of service.

Each wedding and event is unique.  To that end, we engage our clients and their vision and custom design a menu to match.  Kristin is our Director of Catering, and works with Catering Owner Joey and the rest of our Team to facilitate your catering vision.

Bar Service

We offer full bar service specifically designed for your event and your guest.  Steve, one of our owners and resident Sommelier will work with you to meet your vision for your event.  Steve will also be your first point of contact for booking the venue.                                        

Wedding Coordinator

You Never Walk Alone at The Barn at Smugglers Notch!  The owners as well as staff are on-site during every event. We are also available during the Wedding Planning process to take care of any of your needs and questions as they pertain to our venue and services.  Whether it be our Co-Owners, Steve and Jennifer or one of the other members of our team, we are here to assist you in the planning and execution of your event.  For those who desire even more assistance we offer both in depth “Day of” Coordination services and Wedding Planning services.

Special Discounts on Accommodations and Shuttle Service from Smuggs

As a partner of Smugglers' Notch Resort, our guests are afforded discounts on lodging.  In addition, there is a shuttle service between the resort and our venue so your guests do not have to drive.  Further, our guests enjoy discounts on lift tickets from Smuggs.

Shuttle Service from Stowe

We are only 7 miles from The Stowe Mountain Resort and shuttle service can be arranged to our venue.  We can arrange for group discounts at many Stowe hotels and resorts.  Just ask and we will push for discounts for your group.

Location of “The Barn”

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is located on our 77-acre historic Dodge Farm in Jeffersonville, VT.  We are conveniently located to both Stowe & Smugglers’ Notch Resorts.   To us, the most important thing when building this venue was the location.  This is a spectacular location with unobstructed views of Smugglers’ Notch, The Green Mountains and Vermont’s Highest Peak; Mount Mansfield.  We fell in love with the location at first sight.  We are surrounded by nature, yet conveniently located to Stowe & Smugglers’ Notch Resorts and all they have to offer.  We are actually closer to Stowe Mountain Resort, than Stowe Village is!  Below is one of our fabulous views!

Summary of “The Barn”

Our Monitor Barn was constructed from the ground up by local Vermont builders, who are well known, award winning builders of Barns for the “Weddings and Wine” industry.They have built barns all over the country for Wedding and Winery venues, including the award winning Pippin Hill in Virginia (where weddings start at 6 figures).Our Barn has won awards for both design and energy efficiency.When designing The Barn, we wanted to do something different than other venues in Vermont, by raising the bar with our high levels of finish and elegance.The reaction from the state’s top wedding professionals and of course the brides has been a collective, “Wow, this is an extremely beautiful and well thought out venue in a beautiful location”.We also often get the response that “this place is amazing!”One of the top wedding planners in the state viewed our venue and told us, “I am speechless, this is what I have always thought Vermont needed in a wedding venue.  Something more upscale.  This is something I would expect to see in the country side outside of NYC or Boston!”  We are excited that our vision for this venue has been so well received and we were voted amongst the top 5% of wedding venues. We have designed this building to be modern and offer all of the comforts of a high end luxury venue, while esthetically fitting with the vernacular of our New England landscape.

The Barn has been built using Post & Beam construction, giving it a rustic feel.  However, through the use of high end finishes, we have raised the elegance factor, while remaining in harmony with the vernacular of our picturesque surroundings.  The Barn has many windows to capture the natural light and amazing views of the Green Mountains.  A unique feature of the design of our barn is that there are no interior posts to obstruct views.  Our modified post and beam construction enables all guests to have a great view of event happenings, as well as allowing ultimate flexibility in the layout of guest tables.
